Las Vegas
The Strip, the deals, the desert nights.
About Las Vegas
Las Vegas is one of the most rate-volatile hotel markets in the country, which is exactly why it's the city Hotel Room Discounters members care about most. Public booking sites show one set of prices. Member rates show another. The same suite at the same property on the same Tuesday in October can swing $80–$200 a night depending on which channel you're booking through. The trick to Las Vegas isn't picking the right hotel — almost all of the major properties are excellent — it's picking the right night, the right room class, and the right rate.
The Strip is the obvious destination, but the city has rapidly diversified. Summerlin (out near Red Rock and the new Raiders practice facility) is a quieter, family-friendly alternative with a Vegas pedigree. Henderson and the M Resort area give you full Las Vegas hospitality without the chaos of the central Strip. Downtown Fremont has its own grit, its own deals, and its own crowd. Each neighborhood has properties our members can access at unpublished rates.
Our Travel Editor's Las Vegas advice: book Sunday through Thursday whenever you can, ignore the headline rate the public sees, and pick a property based on the pool deck and the casino floor — not the brand. There's no bad room in Las Vegas; there's only the wrong rate.
